SSC CGL 2026 Exam Timing: Why Time Management Matters
Managing Time During the Examination
Time management in SSC CGL is not about solving questions at a swift pace; it is about knowing when to leave questions for later. The 15-minute sectional timer in Tier-I does not allow you to shift your remaining time to the next section. Hence, practicing with the sectional time limit itself will also ensure you can manage time well.
Tips for Effective Time Management
A helpful tip – try to solve the questions that seem simple at the outset and do not get stuck on one question for a long time. Long questions in the Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning section eat up a lot of seconds. In the General Awareness section, don’t make the mistake of wasting time on a question if you do not know the answer.
Preparing According to the Exam Pattern
Practising with the Exam Format
Once you get the SSC CGL 2026 exam pattern for the SSC CGL exam, it helps you set your path to prepare for the exam. Instead of mugging all the mock tests back-to-back, you can practice a section in the exact time given in the exam. Old papers help you learn about question trends.
Balancing Speed, Accuracy and Revision
It requires a mix of speed, Accuracy, Revisions, and disciplined time utilization. An aspirant who is aware of the format of the test is far better able to utilize each minute while appearing for the test. As the SSC might make some changes in the timetable or other instructions, the candidate must stay updated on the official website of SSC. [1]
